- At an industry gathering, Airbus (OTCPK:EADSY) CEO Fabrice Bregier said that 2022 may be too soon to introduce an upgrade to the unit's A380 jumbo jet.
- That's in spite of the request from its largest customer, Emirates, to improve the plane. Despite Emirates' support, the aircraft is still finding a market: "People love the A380 as passengers. But airlines don't," Bregier said.
- He's also looking at industry trends toward smaller twin-engine craft. Last year, commercial airlines placed zero orders for new jumbo 747s from Airbus or Boeing.
