Taiwan's TPK and Wintek expect to see their iPhone touch panel shipments fall 15%-20% Q/Q in Q2, reports Digitimes. Broadcom, Cirrus Logic, and Multi-Fineline Electronix have also guided (I, II, III) for declining Q2 sales for product lines heavily dependent on Apple (AAPL -2.1%). The reports come after Apple issued cautious June quarter guidance, partly due to an increase in iPhone channel inventory.

When will people learn to not attempt to game AAPL based on suppliers? Some of this could be related to an iPhone5 launch. Ramp down current phone, then ramp up the new phone which could be using a different supplier.

Clearly - Cirrus' guidance also included a major Q3 rebound. But there's a good chance the next iPhone won't arrive until early Q4 (that's when the 4S arrived). A major drop in supplier shipments after a strong Q1 (typically the weakest quarter for chip/component suppliers) is worth noting.

So, what are we saying? Do we know the number of iphones sale during 3rd quarter and is it a disaster? Will there be an Apple beyond June 2012? Yes or no. First comes the news of the insider sale of 64,000 shares by the head huncho of software development, then came the news of channel stuffing by 5 million iphones and now this! When will all these bad news stop! Next I read comment by Mr. Colony of some research org that Mr. Cook is not really a good fit and that Apple will not be a great company five years hence. Give me a break, some good news somewhere!

The good news is that if the disparaging remarks about Apple don't stop soon, you may be able to celebrate Valentine's Day all over again by buying AAPL shares at $500 for somebody you love.

15 to 20% down is not a bad iphone number. It would still be a 30 mn number and Ipads should ramp up to 15 to 18 mn this quarter, which should offset any iphone weakness. Only idiots bet against AAPL.
