Though Electronic Arts (EA -4.6%) has sold off following its FQ4 report, archrival Activision (ATVI +0.7%) is set to close the day higher. The likely reason: EA's 400K subscriber drop for Star Wars: The Old Republic bodes well for Activision's World of Warcraft. Though WoW has been shedding subscribers, it still had 10.2M as of Dec. 31. That's far more than The Old Republic's 1.3M as of March 31, and makes the franchise a cash cow. (previous) (more on EA)
