I applaud Southwest for giving up on this bid due to Frontier's pilot union refusing to align themselves with Southwest's pilots. Better to wait it out. Republic will merge with Frontier, find their labor expenses uncompetitive and Southwest can come in later and bid for all of Republic when they file BK.
