More from the Apple (AAPL) rumor mill: Pac Crest's Andy Hargreaves says his checks indicate a smaller iPad will launch before the holiday season, and thinks it could sport a 30% gross margin at a price of $299. Digitimes claims Taiwanese manufacturers are building new plants to meet demand for the smaller iPad and next-gen iPhone, and that suppliers have begun shipping components for upcoming MacBook launches.

So we have the iPhone 5, mini iPad, 15" MacBook, iPad sales in China, iPhone sales thru China's largest cell phone company, and maybe an iTV all in the next 6 1/2 mos.

Friday is the 3rd week of the month, so options will be doing their thing.

Maybe it will be a good time to add some shares.

Being no genius myself, my son who says he is a genius, says that they will stick with the current screen sizes. That the iphone ,getter larger, and ipad getting smaller, creates untold problems for the existing apps, and that was why Jobs wanted no deviation.Need opinion from another genius.

Smaller iPad has no problem. Would have the same pixel res than ipad2. Same apps would work on it.

Btw, yesterday I knew the first guy I've met switching from iphone to android. It was using a ridiculous, huge Samsung phone, suitable for a Gulliver's tales user. Spend the rest of the evening justifying that absurd device. Design will still be one of many factors that sets Apple apart. Have you ever wonder how they build the once piece aluminum, incredibly beautiful remote of AppleTV - a mere 100 bucks device- ?

For those who, here at MF plot lumina/W8 or BB10 as the iPhone killers, just chart nokia, rimm and aapl stock prices for the last year or so. If invested in AAPL, even with this pullback, now would have 5 to 7 times more money... Nokia in fact is falling much harder last month than the price correction of AAPL. RIMM, well... has almost nothing else to loose already. So, seems not many others believe the same thing...

    AAPL YoY EPS growth last 6 q's: 75%, 92%, 122%, 52%, 116%, 92%. That sole 52% was the effect of SJ death + iPhone4S postponed, non-iphone5 name 'deception', corrected the following Q.
Projecting even those worst two Q for Q3, Q4 (Q3 50%, Q4 70% YoY growth - while AT&T is now selling iPhone as 80% of their smartphones -), FY12 would end at least with 50 EPS, and some 135/sh cash ( In the meantime, WSt is evaluating 46... Q3 30%, Q4 less than 40%?).
With 50 EPS CFY, it implies that AAPL is now trading at 11.2 PE, 8.5 ex cash. Never ever (even in the worst times of european crisis and SJ decease last year) this stock has been so cheap, I think.
    I'm all-in.

Would they really sell something that could potentially cannibalize sales of the current iPad? At that price point I would definitely be buying the as gifts so maybe I answered my own question!

Apple's rumor mill is about as reliable as what you'd get from your local palm reader.

The iPad mini has been rumored to run at a resolution of 1024x768. This is the same resolution as the first iPad and iPad 2. No changes are needed for existing apps.

Why not change screen size? Then everyone will have to buy their favorite apps again.

Better to look at Foxconn's giant expansion and the infrastructure set up to rail the I/T/Vs starting in August to the docks. They need to be on the boat by the end of August to be on the shelves for the holiday !

That seems to be a fact an much too large to hide.. DL
