  • Citrix's (NASDAQ:CTXS) Secure Browser products provide tools for delivering and managing Web/SaaS apps accessed by a variety of modern browsers. The tools are offered through a Citrix-hosted service that starts at $20/user/month, on-premise software licenses starting at $150 per user or device, and a free deployment kit for users of Citrix's XenApp (virtual app delivery) and XenDesktop (virtual desktop) products signed up for the company's Subscription Advantage or software maintenance services.
  • Citrix says the offerings, which come amid massive growth in the number of SaaS apps adopted or at least approved for use by enterprises, allow companies to deploy apps meant for Internet Explorer on multiple browsers, lower help desk calls by letting firms define an app's browser and plugins, create an extra layer of security between devices and sensitive information, and let IT respond faster to SaaS app requests from business managers.
  • Archrival VMware provides SaaS app management tools via its Horizon virtual desktop/app product suite. Citrix's SaaS revenue rose 15% Y/Y in Q4 to $193.6M, and its product/license revenue 5% to $281.3M.
