- Spirit Aerosystems (NYSE:SPR) says CEO Larry Lawson will retire effective July 31, when COO Tom Gentile will become the new CEO.
- Gentile joined SPR in April, taking charge of all company programs in addition to aspects of engineering, operations and business development; his hiring coincided with reports that the company was seeking a COO as part of a succession plan for the CEO.
- Prior to joining SPR, Gentile spent two decades in leadership roles at GE, including President and CEO of GE Aviation Services and President and CEO of GE Healthcare Systems.
