- A U.S. district judge today dismissed some claims brought against General Motors (NYSE:GM) by customers seeking to recoup vehicle values that they say were lost due to more than 70 recalls during 2014.
- The plaintiffs claimed that their vehicles diminished in value as a result of a defective ignition switch and subsequent recalls in 2014, including for parts unrelated to the switch such as headlights and power doors.
- GM has paid $2B in criminal and civil penalties and settlements over the switch, which has been linked to 124 deaths and 275 injuries.
