- Windstream Holdings (WIN +1.3%) is bidding with North Carolina to bring its fiber-backed Kinetic TV service to thousands of homes.
- The company has submitted formal franchise paperwork with the secretary of state to offer the service to 50,000 homes mainly across 13 communities in the state.
- That would mark the fourth Kinetic TV launch for the company, which has previously rolled out the service in Lincoln, Neb.; Lexington, Ky., and Sugar Land, Texas.
- The service is based on Ericsson's Mediaroom platform and offers customers HD video with a wireless set top box, whole home DVR, on-demand video and portability across mobile devices.
