- Nearly one-third of the Hanjin Shipping (OTC:HNJSF) container ships that have been waiting to dock at ports around the world have unloaded their cargo, raising hopes that the disruption in the global supply chain will ease ahead of the year-end holiday season.
- Hanjin moves roughly 3% of containers globally and up to 10% of those shipped between Asia and Europe. Some 25,000 containers cross the Pacific daily on the company's ships.
- Meanwhile, a South Korean judge has ruled that all Hanjin vessels that have completed unloading their cargo must cancel their charter agreements and return the ship to the shipowner.
