In one of the odder joint ventures out there, Toyota (TM) teams up with Nintendo (NTDOY.PK) to turn the Nintendo DS into a navigational tool. For a cool $3K bucks, a driver can buy Toyota's Smart Navi system to add a Super Mario experience to the simple function of driving around town.

This has got to be the dumbest idea of the quarter. Lets see 300 for a top of the line navi which i can take in multiple cars or 3k to get a "super mario experience"....geez what will TM think of next. If this is the innovation they are coming out with to boost profits they are in trouble

What is the value of entertaining yourself while hopefully BRIEFLY checking a GPS for directions? Isn't this something you do while standing still or as BRIEFLY as possible, so as not to be distracted from navigating ON COMING TRAFFIC. People are getting into accidents from texting and from spending too much time on lengthy cell phone conversations (without using hands free sets required by law). Unless the Nintendo DS makes a GPS more accurate, it serves no purpose.

Nintendo's new WiiU console should be evaluated during the E3 video gaming tech fare on June 5-7, and the results/reviews should affect its' share price more than this arrangement with Toyota. I believe that Xbox and PS4? should still blow it away.
