Comparable sales up 6% at Ethan Allen

• Ethan Allen (NYSE:ETH) is on watch after missing estimates with its Q3 report.
• By many measures, results were improved during the quarter. Comparable written orders were up 8% and comparable store sales improved 6%.
• Total retail segment sales were 4.3% higher to $152.3M, while wholesale segment sales fell back 4.9% to $114.6M.
• The retailer ended the quarter with a gross margin rate of 56.1%, up 110 bps from a year ago.
