Japan might seek approval from its parliament to provide up to $7.6B of sovereign insurance for tankers carrying Iranian crude, Bloomberg reports, as the country looks to get round an EU ban on insurers providing such cover. The sanctions will affect 95% of the world’s tankers and are due to go into effect on July 1.
