The trouble at American Eagle Outfitters (AEO -13.4%) is tied very closely to slow traffic at malls in the U.S.

AEO execs said during today's conference call that Q3 traffic was down low-single digits in A malls and in a mid to high-single digit range at B and C malls.

The weak holiday quarter guidance from American Eagle has contributed to share price falls for Buckle (BKE -1.2%), Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF -3.4%), Urban Outfitters (URBN -0.9%) and Zumiez (ZUMZ -1%).
