Discovery CEO: We could win in consolidating sector with content

• In a world where media consolidation is rampant, content -- or at least Discovery Communications (DISCA +1.4%) content -- is king, says Discovery chief David Zaslav.
• Looking to where mergers like AT&T/Time Warner are more the norm, he says "We think we could be the winners with a lot of the great content that we have."
• He pointed to Discovery Channel, the Oprah Winfrey Network and TLC as examples that would make the company's offerings an asset to emerging giants of distribution.
• "The core to the strategy is making sure that your channels and your IP is really compelling," he says. "And you have a super fan group and people that ... gotta have it."
