Brazil court suspends $5.2B sale of Petrobras gas pipeline unit

• A Brazilian federal court has suspended Petrobras' (PBR +2.7%) $5.2B sale of the Nova Transportadora do Sudesteon natural gas pipeline unit to a group of investors led by Brookfield Asset Management (BAM -0.4%).
• The court granted the injunction on grounds that the sale was not sufficiently publicized to foster competition.
• Nova Transportadora supplies gas to Brazil’s most populated and industrialized states of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais.
