- TransCanada (TRP -0.1%) says it will offer a flat toll on its Mainline system that takes natural gas from western Canada to Ontario, after shippers had balked at the previous varied toll structure they saw as too high.
- After halting an open season last November for the Mainline after failing to receive enough bids from shippers, TRP is launching a new open season to gauge interest in a "simplified" rate of C$0.77/gigajoule for a 10-year term instead of the C$0.75-C$0.82 range previously offered.
- TRP will need approval from Canada's National Energy Board before Q4, when Energy Transfer Partners expects to have its Rover pipeline in service, which would erode TRP’s market share in Ontario.
