- Equinix (NASDAQ:EQIX +3.2%) has opened a new data center in São Paulo, expanding its interconnection capabilities in Brazil and shoring up its position as home to the densest concentration of network carriers in the country.
- The new $69M center, SP3, is an International Business Exchange Center, the company's fifth in Brazil.
- Its first phase offers total capacity of 725 cabinets, and it will hit a total of 2,775 cabinets on completion, doubling the company's available space in Brazil. It has more than 215,000 square feet of gross space with about 13.3 MW of power available.
- Equinix's São Paulo operations are a hub for about 1,000 companies, including 270 cloud and IT services companies and more than 70 telecom carriers.
