- Target (NYSE:TGT +0.2%) appoints Kroger (KR -1.2%) veteran Jeff Burt as its new Senior VP of grocery, fresh food and beverage, as the retailer makes a renewed push to overhaul the business amid an intensifying price war.
- Burt, who joins TGT after 30 years at KR, will replace previous grocery chief Anne Dament, who stepped down in November after less than 18 months on the job.
- At KR, Burt most recently served as president of the Fred Meyer division, in charge of stores, fuel stations, distribution centers, manufacturing plants and 38K employees; he will be replaced at Fred Meyer by Joe Grieshaber, another 30-year-plus KR veteran.
