A&E grows digital lifestyle investment with funding for Beautycon Media

• A&E has led an investment round for Beautycon Media, a lifestyle move that it sees as complementary with its Lifetime women's brand.
• Beautycon got $9M in series A funding from a group that also includes Main Street Advisors and Live Nation (NYSE:LYV).
• The move is the latest digital investment from old-line media firms, and A&E chief Nancy Dubuc sees Beautycon as a "major player" and looks forward to "exploring a number of synergies particularly with our Lifetime brand.”
• A&E is co-owned by Hearst and Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS).
