- Recode reports that Uber (UBER) has hired Bo Young Lee to serve as its first chief diversity and inclusion officer. Lee begins work in March.
- Hiring a diversity officer was recommended during former attorney general Eric Holder’s investigation into Uber’s sexual harassment culture.
- Holder recommended promoting global head of diversity Bernard Coleman to a more senior role and to have Coleman report to the CEO and COO.
- Lee will report to chief human resources officer Liane Hornsey, though that might change in the future. Coleman will report to Lee.
