- Nest Cam IQ owners can install a free software update starting today to enable Google (GOOG, GOOGL) Assistant.
- The update only applies to the indoor model of the camera and doesn’t allow Google Assistant to control the camera itself.
- Along with the software update, Nest is adding a new $5 / 5-day subscription plan to its Nest Aware video upload service. Current plans have $10 for 10 days and $30 for 30 days.
- Alphabet owns Nest and earlier this month integrated the previously standalone unit into Google’s hardware group.
