Russian mobile carrier VimpelCom (VIP -10.9%) slumps after receiving an injunction from Russian antitrust regulators that stems from a ruling shareholder Telenor illegally acquired preferred shares of VimpleCom from fellow carrier Weather Investments. As a result, a VimpelCom subsidiary is barred from paying dividends, and the powers of its board and auditors have been suspended. This, in turn, has led VimpelCom itself to defer a dividend payment. Oh Christ! Just what we need is another CHK. I so sick of these crooked sobs that I could puke. When will the regulators start to put these bastards underneath the jail for their handywork?

Lesson learned! I hold a small position in VIP, reaching for yield. After researching this company and looking at the financials, thought it was a good bet but again got burned by the crooks that control companies. We little guys need to stick to ETF's, funds, and big American companies.
