Amazon (AMZN) plans to start offering prepaid Internet access for smartphones and tablet computers in Japan in a move that could serve as a test case for a potential U.S. launch in the future. The company will sell SIM cards for ¥1,980 ($25) that give users up to 500MB of data usage.
