How in a free enterprise market (not to mention country) do you take control of ANY public firm with LESS THAN 51%. Send Liberty Media a case of new adding machines & an in-house optician asap !

They are asking to take control on a de facto basis not de jure.

This is not necessarily a negative for Sirius XM and existing investors.
This is a form 'de facto' return of equity to shareholders that the existing CEO and board members have consistently refused. It appears that Liberty will gain control prior to assuming 50% of the common shares. Once it gets the approval from the FCC they will buy the needed shares. Hence PPS appreciation.

I wouldn't bet on the glowing picture you are picturing.

I kind of like the picture as it is now------I like having ONE company not bundled in with other companies as Liberty does.

Siri's growth is fantastic------the rise in Siri 's market price stopped when the first Malone Liberty request to FCC was filed-----for the spectrum and license.

This says something about how the general market viewed Malone's request to the FCC-------not favorable.

Siri is doing great without Malone and Liberty's takeover.
