    Chrysler +30%, Ford +13%, GM 11%.

     

    GM result complicates the let them go out of business argument.

     

    With the automakers results, as usual, the US economy sends the maximally ambiguous message. Hard to think short here.

    It's a different level of resposibility when you are taking care of yourself versus an entire country.

     

    No responsible national government willingly lets an auto manufacturer go out of business.

    The new car buying boom is only beginning.

     

    Tens millions of Americans haven't bought a new car in over a decade. I don't know if that has ever been the case since the 1940s!

     

    It isn't in the American DNA to drive a used car for more than 10 years.
