Shares of Coinstar (CSTR) slip 0.4% lower premarket after landing a deal to place its Redbox movie kiosks in Dollar General's U.S. stores. Though the 7K Dollar General stores make for an enticing way to get in front of consumers, it's the overriding theme that the future of physical DVD discs is limited that serves as an overhang. The company, perhaps seeing the writing on the wall, is also exploring selling other items out of kiosks including coffee and fashion accessories.

The Physical DVD delivery method is not dead! On any given Friday or Saturday night you can go to almost any Redbox kiosk and see a line of customers waiting to rent. Try telling those people waiting that "The DVD is Dead". Shorts are going to get burnt...again.
