Aubrey McClendon (NYSE:CHK) reportedly has hired ex-SEC lawyer Marvin Pickholz to represent him in an SEC inquiry into $1.3B in personal loans he obtained from an investment firm doing business with the company. The SEC is said to be looking into whether the loans posed a conflict of interest or should have been disclosed to shareholders.
