Toyota denies cover-up: Weird back-and-forth between Toyota (TM) and the NHTSA continues. After NHTSA said a recent Toyota press release implying there is no defect in its floormats was inaccurate and misleading, Toyota responds by saying "It was never our intention to mislead or provide inaccurate information," adding, "It is not part of Toyota's culture and the Toyota way to cover up anything."

This is (not the above ad, the news item above) a class-action lawsuit set-up. Toyota is a great company and they can't screw up the manufacture of floor mats.

I got the re-call notice about a year ago. But I called the dealer and they said the mats I got were fine. That was the end of that.
Opinion: There ain't no way that mat is going near the gas pedal the way it is anchored down in two places unless (by severe abuse), something would rip the mat out of the eyelets. I don't see how?
