Manulife (MFC) bets on Asia with a plan to double agents there to 100K over the next 5 years in the hope of boosting the region's contribution to company profit to 40%. The company joins other North American life insurers, looking east as low rates kills business at home. "The only viable, sustainable, profitable growth part of (the) business is Asia," says an analyst.
