Madagascar 3 claims the top spot in the weekend movie box office, earning $60.4M in North America, a bigger opening than either of the series' first two installments, according to early estimates from producer DreamWorks (DWA +0.4%). "It's a very strong start to the summer family event movie season," says DWA marketing chief Anne Globe.
