Carlos Slim obtained an 8.4% stake in YPF (YPF +10.3%) as collateral for a defaulted loan, a Slim spokesman reportedly tells Bloomberg. Slim's bank received YPF shares as collateral for a loan taken out four years ago, the spokesman says, adding that while Slim views YPF as "a solid company with good growth potential," he is still considering whether to keep the stake.
