Liquidmetal Technologies (LQMT.OB) and Apple (AAPL) have agreed to extend a technology licensing agreement between the companies to Feb. 5, 2014. The original agreement, signed in 2010 and good through Feb. 2012, gave Apple exclusive rights to the use of a Liquidmetal alloy within consumer electronics gear. In May, SA's Jeff Newman discussed the potential benefits Liquidmetal's technology could provide for Apple products.

Points towards a possible 2013 product refresh. Apple would gain an exclusive on launch sometime in 2013 and through early 2014.
