MetLife (MET) is given an extension by the Fed to September 30 (from June 12) to file a fresh capital plan. Previous attempts at hiking the dividend or restarting buybacks have been nixed by the Fed, and Met is busily shedding assets to cool the oversight. Less ambitious competitor Prudential has hiked its dividend thrice since 2008 while Met remains stuck at $0.74. (8-K)
