Server giants IBM and H-P provide cautious responses to Intel's (INTC) recently-announced Xeon Phi accelerator cards, which pack 50 cores and are aimed at the lucrative high-performance computing (HPC) market. Big Blue says it doesn't expect to ship many of its Blue Gene supercomputers with Xeon Phi cards on board. H-P is somewhat more positive, but doesn't see Intel's gear blowing away Nvidia's (NVDA) Tesla, the current leader in the HPC accelerator market.
