Wal-Mart (WMT) is winning the price war against Amazon (AMZN) across many key categories, according to a Kanter Retail study. Though the company has been able to use its 50-year history of wrangling deals out of vendors and huge supply base to keep a pricing edge, the percentage of WMT shoppers who also buy online with Amazon.com continues to rise. The big picture: Wal-Mart hasn't directly advertised its pricing advantage over Amazon, allowing AMZN to gain brand equity and become a trusted source for low prices.
