With the continent nearly drained of eligible collateral the ECB cuts the ratings threshold for certain ABS, including those backed by commercial mortgages and auto and consumer finance loans. European shares and the euro are gaining altitude.

Its that old European saying: when Spanish banks run out of collateral, you just change the definition of collateral.

Is that like throwing a firecracker out in the middle of a grenade tossing contest? Market setting up for a large slide. Stay liquid.

Europe needs growth and needs it soon. Nothing else matters.

By growth do you mean high inflation? Politicians and economists don't know what real growth is. But they certainly understand printing masses of money.

Deficit spending is not the answer. It has to come from exports and good products that the private sector can provide.

The point of collateral was to force banks to buy soverign debt pushing up prices and down yields....wasn't it? Doesn't this fly in the face of the point of the LTRO.

I'm betting that we'll see more liquidity pumped into the markets by many of the developed nations governments. Betting how? Buying low cost gold producers like Allied Nevada. Even been picking up Westhaven Ventures, an exploration company with a very successful management team http://bit.ly/LBSYcN

Fear mongering doesn't help anyone... The world is not ending. You're all leaving money on the table by not getting back in. When the European stimulus comes the markets will recover.
