Statoil (STO -0.2%) says it is shutting down four oil platforms in the North Sea due to a strike by oil workers that began on Sunday, which will further reduce output from the world's eighth biggest oil exporter by 26K bbl/day. The trade unions say the move is an attempt to provoke the Norwegian government to intervene to stop the strike.
