At Qualcomm's (QCOM) Uplinq conference, the mobile chip giant introduced several tools aimed at creating a software ecosystem around its Snapdragon app/baseband processors. Among them: an Android development kit (SDK) focused on multimedia and location features; an augmented reality platform called Vuforia; and Gimbal, an SDK for adding context awareness to apps. Also, CEO Paul Jacobs promised Snapdragon chips would power some of the first Windows RT devices. (previous)
