It seems like TEF is shifting iits marketing and sales focus to quicker revenue generating channels like the mobile app market.

TEF selling back of shares to China Unicom and lowering its oiverall debt on their balance sheet is welcome news to me as I bought TEF at around $14 for its high dividend yield and it seemed like TEF stock was susceptible to all the bad news of the Spanish banks and Eurozone crisis. Not to mention the hyper-competitive teecom industry battling with Vodafone and other companies.

I guess people also like TEF a lot because of its strong presence in Latin America for overall diversification and exposure to emerging markets with prospective growth.

Does everyone still anticipate a dividend cut because that's what the the Board of Directors or underwriters would recommend to keep TEF lean and mean and continue to pay down debt?

It concerns a joint partnership between Telefonica's digital unit and Abu Dhabi-based Etisalat that will expand Telefonica Digital's market by 17 countries and 170 million customers.

"The two firms will work together in a number of areas, including machine-to-machine (M2M), financial services, cloud computing and mobile advertising" (PR)

"revenues at its digital division to grow at an annual rate of 20 percent and that the unit will raise around 5 billion euros ($6.26 billion) for the company by 2015." (PR)
