Facebook's (FB) latest idea for boosting ad revenue: mobile news feed ads that target consumers based on the apps they use. Like its plans for delivering mobile ads based on a user's location, and PC ads based on a user's web browsing, this concept might not go over well with privacy advocates. But Facebook has avoided seeing a giant backlash over its ad targeting thus far, and it badly needs to improve mobile monetization. (also)

    I agree with SoldHigh. I decided to open a FB account as I thought it might be a useful method of keeping in touch with friends and business associates. I now find myself being invited to join people on FB I've never met or heard of before !!
