MBIA (MBI -8.7%) dives, its solvency called into question as a regulator has yet to give one of its units permission to make an interest payment due next week. MKM's Harry Fong says it's a buying opportunity as the payment is not due if not approved by regulators, meaning a missed payment does not equal default.

    This is a great buying opportunity since insolvency isn't even a remote possibility.
