Emails suggest top brass of Chesapeake and Encana (ECA) shared sensitive information, giving CHK execs the upper hand in deals with Michigan landowners, reports Reuters. After learning Encana was pulling back, Aubrey McClendon ordered his people to renegotiate or delay closing on at least 10 major deals. The DOJ and others are having their own look.

TO ME THIS MAKES SENSE. Why as a CEO would I continue with the status quo rather than waiting awhile for the cost of doing business settle. If this is true thaen AM made a good call so as to make the value of the leases less costly to all shareholders.

Back when there was a modicum of integrity left in the Country, an offer and an acceptance constituted an enforceable contract. If there was an offer and the offer was accepted, CHK may have a problem. If not, the lawyers will still make just as much money.

Proves one should never get to big or too rich, not to have to abide by the rules like having a little integrity or professionalism and some "by-God" backbone when it comes to fulfilling your end of a deal or contract. Further more when it comes to the mighty CHK, a little communication with the landowners would go a long way to put out some of the fires they created.

    ECA - dumped @ profit
    CHK - dumped @big profit

    Short Term - dump
Long Term - look for good entry point (forget about the "perfect" trade)
Still in? Tough call because I think there is a bit more (maybe a lot more) downside ahead.

If picking stocks was easy, everyone would be doing it. Yes?
