While some analysts are warning Apple (AAPL +0.7%) could report soft June quarter iPhone sales on July 24, Piper's Gene Munster believes a relatively healthy 28M-29M iPhones were sold in FQ3. Munster does expect Apple to guide for just 24M iPhone sales for FQ4, but thinks this is baked in. Cowen's Matthew Hoffman, who was right about FQ2 sales, is going out on a limb and predicting 5M next-gen iPhones will be sold in FQ4, allowing total sales to remain around 28M-29M.

"Some analysts"? Really or shouldn't it be "Some fund managers" at investment banks with really thin investment / analyst division separation?
Either way, push the stock down, load up, let the compressed spring snap, celebrate, repeat.

There are few companies analysts are as overwhelmingly bullish on as they are for Apple.

In those instances where one of them says something critical about Apple (usually while reiterating a bullish rating), I'd suggest weighing what they have to say (and disagreeing if you'd like) rather than questioning their motives.

It appears to me that there are a significant number of catalysts lining up to move the stock forward post 3Q earnings 7/24: 1) iPad 3 launch in China 7/20 2) OSX 6 launch 7/25 and 3) 8/7 announcement for iPhone 5. Apple's 3Q is the first full quarter for iPad 3 sales. The enterprise space is growing rapidly and iPhone sales are going to exceed analysts projections because they get it wrong every time. Isn't this Tim Cooke's strength - production/channel management?

Just seems strange that I get maybe upwards of twenty analyst opinions within the day for Apple with extreme differences yet they are all supposed to be in the "know".
Ok, with my very limited expertise I will predict a good solid quarter and a rise to $ 625 after they report and by the end of the next 1st quarter Apple will be between $ 700-$ 800
