Having bought out Symantec's stake in a security/storage hardware JV, China's Huawei is now bent on challenging enterprise storage giants such as EMC, IBM, H-P (HPQ), and NetApp (NTAP). Huawei has added 1,000 storage R&D personnel this year, and recently passed H-P to become China's #3 external storage vendor.
