Bank of America (BAC) settles for $375M a lawsuit brought by bond insurer Syncora Guarantee over toxic MBS from 2008. Syncora claims Countrywide (later bought by BofA) misrepresented the quality of the underlying mortgages.

    Settlement was probably considerably less than originally claimed. Earnings on an upswing. Looking to see of set asides such as this one are actually costing less.
