More on Philip Morris International (PM): Strong demand in Asia only partially offset overall lower cigarette volume and foreign exchange losses. Europe saw the sharpest drop in volume, with a 9.4% decline. The company reiterates its full-year EPS forecast of $5.10 to $5.20. Shares +1.1% premarket. (PR)

    Do you mean that people will give up their cigarettes when they need to cut expenses? I thought that tobacco made you an addict. My second wife quit smoking eight years ago after forty five years of punishing her lungs. Her example encouraged her daughter and son-in-law to also quit. They've enjoyed the additional disposable income. It's a habit and when it's questioned (economically), self-discipline can come into play.
