    Their revenue number was 18.06 B not 18.6. They missed by 90M.

    Non-GAAP revenue was $18.6B. That includes the revenue from Windows 8 upgrade purchases.

    i see where pundits suggest LESS hardware / less need for servers .... because virtual servers / cloud based computer services are more efficient.

    You read these boards, and it's all about how the iphone is so much more popular than windows phone. But read the transcript of the earnings conference call, and the pros are all asking about the enterprise market. Microsoft really seems to be cleaning-up here. Maybe Steve Ballmer deserves some credit after all.
