Toyota's (TM) Washington office claimed a "win" in successfully blocking a 2008 recall of Sienna minivans connected with 98 injuries from collapsing liftgates, documents show. The automaker offered to replace struts for owners as a "safety improvement campaign" at considerable savings over a recall.

This is another example of how "for sale" our government bureaucrats are....... they regulate and industry, get wined and dined for a few years and then take a cushy job with the company they regulated for 5 or 6 years.

What kind of nonsense is it that you can lobby regulators to change their opinions/decisions? Totally defeats the purpose and it also shows why the whole idea of government running our health care system is stupid. How many Washington offices are there going to be when every pharma, medical device company sends in their high pay slicksters to get regulations changed or modified.

The bureaucrats involved should be fired immediately and Toyota needs to be fined a big amount for their gross and intentional negligence.

My Ford Explorer does the same thing (as does the window on the topper of my pickup). Send me the form so I can get in on the class-action.
