Wal-Mart (WMT) calls on merchants to turn down the proposed settlement in which Visa (V) and Mastercard (MA) would pay them $7.25B for fixing swipe charges. The deal "would not structurally change the broken market or prohibit credit card networks from continually increasing hidden swipe fees," Wal-Mart says. (PR)

    Greed. Walmart just wants to pocket more profit. I'm turning down Walmart unless they give a discount on all items if they get a cheaper rate from Visa or Mastercard.
